Founder & Director
Priya Prakasam, a passionate Veena artiste, believes that music is not just a skill but a lifelong journey of discipline, creativity, and spiritual connection. With years of training in Carnatic music and veena, she has guided many students—from young beginners to adult learners—helping them build strong musical foundations while cultivating confidence and joy in their practice. Priya’s Seven Strings was founded with a simple yet powerful vision: to nurture a deep love for Indian classical music while making learning the veena accessible, inspiring, and meaningful for students of all ages. She started learning at the age of 11 with her Guru Mrs.Banumathy Nagarajan at Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts, India and earned Graduate certification. Later she rediscovered her passion & now learns under Guru Veena Vidhwamani Srinivas Dupiala. Her teaching philosophy combines traditional values with a modern, student-focused approach. Each lesson is carefully tailored to the student’s pace and interests, ensuring that learning remains both structured and enjoyable. Today, Priya’s Seven Strings has become a growing community of passionate learners—children discovering music for the first time, teenagers refining their skills, and adults reconnecting with a long-held dream of learning the veena.
